Islands and Temples in Coffee: Painting with Americano

All three pieces use Americano coffee sourced from PX Mart, 7-11, FamilyMart, and Hi-Life as their ink medium. Through handcraft and calligraphic techniques, they examine the contemporary tension between Taiwan and its temple imagery — juxtaposing the Americano, emblematic of modernity and speed, with temples as carriers of local devotion and collective memory, thereby reimagining the island’s temporal and spiritual landscape.
